How Are Acne Scars Classified?
Different acne scars have different modalities of treatments.
Mild (grade 1 acne scars)
These improve over time with applications of glycolic acid, retinoic acid based creams at home. Skin rejuvenation systems of glycolic acid in clinic application can accelerate the process of evening and smoothening of the skin. Microdermabrasion is recommended.
Moderate (grade 2 & 3 acne scars)
These are deeper scars which do not get better with at home creams, They need semi invasive treatments like Dermarollers along with medium depth skin peels like TCA, 70% glycolic acid.

Multiple sessions of derma rollers can help with mild to moderate improvement in pimple scars and marks. Vitamin C, hyaluronic acid are delivered to deeper layers of skin. Glycolic acid 70%:
This is a medium depth skin peel which improves the skin tone, texture and reduces the depth of pimple scars. A multiple number of sessions is needed to achieve results. This is a quick treatment and no downtime. Sun protection while on treatment is necessary.
Severe (grade 4 scars)
These scars show mild to moderate improvement only.
